Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on 2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations in a high-paced CNC environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC programming and machining, who also excels at mentoring a team and driving productivity and quality on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of the machine shop during 2nd shift.
Develop team members on best practices for machining operations, setup, and production efficiency.
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes as needed to support production goals.
Ensure optimal utilization of resources, machine scheduling, and output quality.
Collaborate with the engineering and programming teams to improve part manufacturability and workflow.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and assist in troubleshooting machining challenges.
Maintain and enforce safety standards throughout the shop.
Provide hands-on leadership by coaching, training, and supporting machinists and operators.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in CNC machining preferred.
Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience, ideally using FeatureCam .
Strong knowledge of CNC machinery (mills and lathes) and Fanuc controls .
Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical/technical drawings.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work as part of a team.
Willingness to work overtime when needed.
