Position: Accountant (5 10 Years Experience)

Location: 241 Ralph McGill Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 HYBRID
Client- Georgia Power

Contract- 3 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with 5 10 years of progressive accounting experience to support financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure full compliance with accounting standards. This mid-level role plays a critical part in financial reporting, analysis, and organizational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure asset records and registrations are accurate, valid, and up to date
• Perform monthly accounting calculations and process journal entries
• Gather data and support month-end close activities
• Maintain and update accounting records within the ERP system
• Manage and reconcile the general ledger
• Conduct financial and business data analysis; prepare and distribute reports
• Assist in the annual budgeting cycle and monitor compliance with established budgets
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and annual internal financial statements
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Perform monthly revenue analysis and provide variance explanations
• Produce monthly trial balance variance explanations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
• 5 10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial analysis
• Proficiency in Oracle ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines
