Job Summary

MD Labs, a national clinical testing laboratory in Reno, NV, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk to support our team and assist the Director of Operations with projects.

Professionalism, positivity, confidentiality, excellent organizational and communication skills, computer skills, accuracy, and technical fluency are vital qualifications for this position. One should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users, ensuring the office runs smoothly and payroll/month-end is accurate and completed in a timely manner. Job Duties:

  • Payroll processing and maintenance of our payroll system (Paylocity)
  • Organize teambuilding events and community involvement
  • Maintain accounts payable (email communications and uploading invoices into bookkeeping system)
  • File monthly Sales and Use Tax, and quarterly Nevada Modified Business Tax.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding of employees in transition
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Review and distribute all incoming mail
  • Maintain/renew all incoming mail
  • Additional responsibilities as occasionally assigned

Required Skills:

  • Accuracy and paying precise attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable and payroll best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • MS Office proficiency, particularly Excel

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Familiarity with Paylocity system
  • Familiarity with Bill.com
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week

Experience level:
