Job Description

We are looking for a Business Development Representative in San Francisco, CA, to join Neon’s Revenue Team.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving Neon's commercial goals, championing customer needs, and developing your own professional skills.

This is a remote position. However, candidates must be based in San Francisco.

You will:

• Respond to and qualify inbound sales prospects.

• Identify and nurture prospect to generate qualified sales opportunities.

• Represent Neon at in person events including managing follow ups with interested prospects.

• Partner with Marketing and Revenue Operations to develop and execute targeted prospecting campaigns across email, social media and in-person channels.

• Partner with Product and Marketing teams to refine positioning, messaging, and sales plays based on customer feedback.

• As you demonstrate success and develop your knowledge of Neon, you will have the opportunity to become an Inside Sales Representative.

We're looking for someone who has:

• 2-3 years of experience as a BDR/SDR in a venture-backed startup, preferably in the software infrastructure, developer tools, or data space.

• A proven track record of success in achieving or exceeding sales targets.

• Proactive, strong communication skills and hard-working.

• Experience leveraging modern sales tools and CRM systems.

It would be great if you have:

• 2-3 years of experience as a BDR/SDR in a venture-backed startup, preferably in the software infrastructure, developer tools, or data space.

• Strong references from previous managers.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and OLTP/OLAP databases (Postgres experience is a significant plus).

• Experience in “New Product Sales” roles

• Experience communicating with technical buyers (e.g., developers, engineers, CTOs) is a plus.
