Job Description

Job Title:  School   Bus Driver

Compensation: Pays up to $30 per hour

Job Purpose:  

Provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

Qualifications-Required:

• High School Diploma
• CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow directions and adhere to rules and regulations
• Ability to relate to school-age children from PreK-12
• Familiar with New Jersey bus routes
• Ability to successfully acquire a CDL license (District will train applicants to become bus drivers)
• Ability to control a school bus in emergencies
• Ability to work a flexible work day in the morning and afternoon
• Ability to pass the required physical examination to obtain CDL
• Ability to pass the required Criminal History Review
• Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure

Qualifications-Desired:

• Current CDL license
• 2-3 years driving a school bus

Working Conditions:

• Transportation Department
• School bus
• Available for morning, afternoon, evening runs
• Available for 5 hours a day
• Willing to train individuals wanting to be a bus driver
