Job Title: Central Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary:
The Central Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, decontaminated, sterilized, and prepared for use in patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed cleaning and disinfection of surgical instruments and trays.
• Disassemble instruments to ensure thorough cleaning and inspection.
• Operate sterilizers and perform quality assurance checks on equipment.
• Log sterilization data and maintain accurate instrument tracking records.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of sterile items to prevent contamination.
• Follow safety protocols for handling chemicals and biohazard materials.
• Restock sterile supplies and report inventory shortages.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes.
• Ability to follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Certification:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as a CRCST preferred.
