MetroSys is seeking a highly experienced Cisco Subject Matter Expert at the architect level to support our client’s enterprise infrastructure needs in Spartanburg, SC. This is a hands-on, onsite position that requires deep Cisco expertise, rapid learning of complex environments, and the ability to respond swiftly to network performance issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the lead Cisco SME for the customer’s enterprise network environment.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide root cause analysis for network outages, latency, and performance issues.
Architect and implement high-availability Cisco network solutions in a complex, enterprise-class environment.
Evaluate current network infrastructure and make recommendations for improvements and best practices.
Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand business needs and align network strategies accordingly.
Document all designs, configurations, and incident response actions clearly and thoroughly.
Participate in on-site meetings, incident response, and planning sessions as required.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience with a focus on Cisco technologies.
Strong background in network architecture, design, and operations.
Proven ability to perform deep-dive diagnostics and rapid root cause analysis under pressure.
Experience working through major incidents, including outages and network performance degradations.
Ability to ramp up quickly and assess existing environments with minimal guidance.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism in high-stakes, customer-facing settings.
CCIE certification preferred , but not required if commensurate experience is demonstrated.
