The Roll Off Driver position will be responsible for safely operating a roll-off truck to deliver PEACHTREE DUMPSTERS' containers to customers in the greater Atlanta area. This will entail inspecting the vehicle and the container for any defects or potential malfunctions, general maintenance duties, working with dispatch and mobile applications to map routes to customer locations, driving to location, safely loading and unloading containers where customers specify, and delivering container contents to a transfer station or landfill.
Responsibilities:
• Safely operate a roll-off truck
• Conduct pre and post trip inspections according to DOT guidelines and PEACHTREE DUMPSTERS procedures
• Perform basic evaluation of malfunctioning trucks and equipment at jobsite and make minor repairs
• Inspect all outgoing and returning containers for damage
• Load and unload 20-yard, 30-yard, and 40-yard containers
• Inspect the contents of the container at pick-up to ensure that the container is not overfilled and does not contain any inappropriate waste
• Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and direct them to Customer Service contacts for additional information
• Maintains clean truck and dumpster by regularly washing
• Perform other duties as required by dispatch or the Business Operations Manager
Skills and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2-years’ experience driving commercial vehicles; roll-off experience preferred
• Possess a CDL Class B license for the State of Georgia
• Requires a clean driving record
• Ability to operate a roll-off container truck
• High level of safety awareness driving and operating equipment
• Ability to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch, and other supervisors
• Working knowledge of Motor Carrier Safety regulations and DOT guidelines
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Able to complete tasks within a specific time frame
• Basic knowledge of smart phones and computers
• Knowledge of major roadways and the ability to effectively use maps for directions and routing
• Sufficient mechanical ability to evaluate and repair basic equipment malfunctions
• Experience providing quality customer service
Full time position; not contract work. Be back home every night.
