Saint Edmund Elementary School is dedicated to fostering a love for technology and innovation among our students. We believe that coding is an essential skill in today's digital world, and we are seeking a passionate and skilled Coding Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Teach coding concepts and programming skills to students in grades K-8.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and age groups.
- Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
- Mentor and lead the school robotics team, providing guidance and support during club meetings and competitions.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate coding into the broader curriculum.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching coding or computer science, preferably to elementary and middle school students.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages and platforms suitable for young learners (e.g., Scratch, Python).
- Background in robotics is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students in technology.
Additional Information:
• This position requires availability for one day a week, with additional hours for robotics club meetings, typically held after school.
