About the job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Concrete Project Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for evaluating project plans and specifications, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial concrete construction projects, and supporting the bid process from concept through final proposal.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed, accurate, and timely cost estimates for commercial concrete work.
• Perform quantity take-offs for foundations, slabs, structural concrete, site work, and other relevant scopes.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop budgets and cost summaries for both negotiated and competitive bid projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
• Maintain a database of historical costs and unit pricing for future use.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project handoff meetings.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material pricing, and construction methods relevant to concrete work.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in commercial concrete estimating or a related role in construction.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, or similar).
• Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and costs.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment:

• Fully Remote
• Fast-paced and deadline-driven setting.
• May require working extended hours during bid deadlines.
