CREW MEMBER II – UTILITIES
Starting Salary: $35,289

​
Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform general semi-skilled laboring tasks.  Employees in this classification perform tasks requiring physical strength and stamina.  Work involves performing skilled laboring tasks in the utility department including operating a variety of trucks and heavy equipment to accomplish tasks.  The types of vehicles a crew member could drive include utility trucks, roll off trucks, water trucks, and dump trucks for snow and leaf removal.  Additionally, a crew member sands icy or oily streets, operates a forklift, assists on water and sewer crew repairs and in new installs/site clean-up, site restoration, completes work orders and daily report paperwork.

Incumbent must perform full range of duties as assigned with only general instruction and supervision.  Must possess the ability to follow written & verbal instruction, and communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers.  Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Virginia Commercial Driver’s License.  Criminal background and driving record checks required.
