remote, but must be based out of Raleigh, NC or Durham, NC to meet clients in office meetings and courtroom appearances.
Role Objective: We are seeking to expand our Criminal Defense practice group to North Carolina. The Criminal Defense Attorney will help our firm establish a presence in this market while working independently on cases and focusing on achieving the best possible result for each and every client. Responsibilities and Duties: - Handle cases independently from inception through resolution, including felony jury trials.
- Timely and professional client communication.
- Develop legal strategy and provide clear counsel to clients.
- Develop cases to win.
- Perform legal research and writing.
- Make regular court appearances.
- Collaborate with team members.
Qualifications and Skills: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience focused on criminal defense cases.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be barred and in good standing in the State of North Carolina.
- Ability to handle a full caseload independently.
- Knowledge of court rules and procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to promote yourself as an attorney to clients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Am entrepreneurial spirit and drive to help out firm establish itself in a new market.
