Job Description

As a key educational leader and instructional coach, the Curriculum Coordinator will collaborate with the Associate Head of School and Divisional Leaders to refine, develop, and implement curriculum and programs aligned with the mission and vision of RPDS. This role involves working closely with teachers and administrators to enhance instructional practices, support curriculum delivery, ensure alignment across grade levels, provide professional growth opportunities, and advance strategic academic goals. The Curriculum Coordinator will also serve on the Administrative Leadership Team, maintaining high academic standards while upholding the mission and integrity of RPDS.

Responsibilities:

• Inspire and empower teachers to grow in knowledge and understanding, teach with confidence, and find joy in their work.
• Train and coach teachers to know and understand the curriculum and provide them with feedback related to content delivery, best practices, and instructional strategies.
• Introduce innovative instructional methods and help teachers integrate new technology into their instruction
• Assist faculty with their work to incorporate differentiated instruction and global competencies into their teaching routines as necessary.
• Effectively communicate teaching and learning expectations and curriculum and programming changes to teachers and parents.
• Interpret student data to inform instructional decision-making and planning.
• In collaboration with divisional leadership, create and implement professional learning opportunities and coordinate professional development efforts across the school.
• In partnership with division leadership, drive curriculum alignment and progression across all grade levels
• Work closely with division leadership and the Associate Head of School to review, analyze, and articulate student testing data.
• Maintain curriculum documents and report on progress towards achieving strategic goals and priorities related to academics, programming, and faculty development.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success as an elementary educator and administrator
• Master’s in Education, Curriculum and Design, and/or Leadership preferred
• Strong knowledge and background in curriculum design, implementation, and assessment.
• Capacity to provide support and guidance to teachers implementing new curriculum and methodologies.
• Prior experience in leading professional development, workshops, etc.
• Commitment to children and a strong understanding of childhood development, educational approaches, and curriculum
• Fluency and knowledge of best practices, classroom management, and educational theory
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and move forward with a chosen course of action
• Proven ability to think strategically and creatively while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Understanding of culturally competent teaching and differentiated instruction
• Ability to lead, inspire, support, and mentor faculty
• Able to effectively interpret student data to inform curricular decisions
• Demonstrated experience forming positive working relationships with colleagues and the ability to effectively collaborate with others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all members of the school community
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• High degree of empathy, integrity, and trustworthiness
• Professional demeanor, positive spirit, and a commitment to excellence and innovative education
