About the Opportunity:
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Director of State Government Affairs to lead our efforts in transforming K-12 computer science education policy across the country. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education by advocating for policies that increase access to computer science courses for all students.
What You'll Do:
Develop and lead strategic campaigns to advance computer science education policy in multiple states.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including state legislators, education leaders, and policymakers.
Champion our policy agenda and effectively communicate its importance to diverse audiences.
Collaborate with educators, technology leaders, and non-profit organizations to build a strong support network.
Travel to different states to represent our organization at events and meetings.
You're a Perfect Fit If You Have:
A deep passion for education and a commitment to closing the equity gap in computer science education.
At least a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in developing and implementing state-level education policy.
A successful track record of influencing legislation and securing policy wins.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
The ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
A willingness and flexibility to travel up to 30% of the time.
