General Responsibilities

The EVP/Head of Partner Banking & Payments will be responsible for overseeing the Bank’s Payments function, credit card and enterprise product development. The candidate will develop strategic plans for the area of responsibility, ensure effective risk management in addition to ensuring all key performance metrics are met. The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of the Bank’s new products, services and solutions. Leveraging digital banking and BaaS, this role will lead the merchant acquiring and issuing debit card sales and payment solutions through non-retail bank. The candidate will exercise oversight and control risk in the Bank’s Payments function, credit card and enterprise product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements strategic and tactical plans concerning new products, enhancements to existing products, and processes to support business plans.
  • Oversees the bank delivery/new product budget, prepares and submits for approval with the executive team.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry developments and advises management on new technologies to be considered for future improvements in the Company’s systems, policies, and procedures commensurate with the Company’s size, structure, and resources.
  • Sets sales and profitability goals to achieve improving return on equity results for all retail products, programs, and branch sites.
  • Achieves / exceeds assigned sales targets; drives initial sale of banking solutions across the enterprise.
  • Work with Bank Senior Management to develop a product, operational and compliance strategy regarding distributing prepaid debit cards through non-retail branch channels.
  • Responsible for P&L around BIN Sponsorship, prepaid and debit card sales including negotiating with Branded Networks regarding interchange and marketing revenue.
  • Works closely with IT, back office, or other departments as needed to diagnose issues affecting account opening, settlement or processing which may be identified during implementation or ongoing operations
  • Coordinates testing of settlement activities for new card programs before moving into production phase.
  • Actively monitors newly implemented programs and provides reporting to management and Board of Directors.
  • May make formal presentations to existing or potential clients during business development or on- site client visits and represents the Bank’s interest in developing brand awareness.

Working Conditions:

  • The incumbent is expected to be able to work Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed and flexibility with work location and hours may be granted if circumstances permit.

Travel

  • Must be willing to travel to Headquarters in Florida & various locations (up to 30%).

Qualifications Summary

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience leading retail operations or debit card payments systems in a banking environment at an executive level.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain technical details to non-technical personnel in an effective manner.
  • Strong presentation skills directed to executive and board level audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines, and with tasks delegated to various staff levels – PMP designation preferred.
  • Strong collaborative management style with demonstrated experience in gaining consensus around business.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into actionable projects related to the technological environment.
  • Strong negotiating skills demonstrated through management of significant vendor relationships.
  • Must be willing to travel and be reasonably accessible after normal working hours in the event of emergencies.
