Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for an experienced civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovative aviation team. This opportunity is available at either our Chicago or Warrenville, IL office locations. This position also has the potential to be based out of the Indianapolis, IN area at various project sites for the candidate with the right aptitude and ability.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and leading aviation engineering projects
• Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
• Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
• Leading proactive client interactions and communications with aviation clients
• Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
• Serving as the project manager and mentoring project staff
• Serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects as needed
• Performing in a program management role with agency clients

A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have the following background:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience
• PE License in the state of IL and/or IN

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all the following:

• Aviation design and construction projects
• Client and/or project management
• Mentoring project staff

Salary Range: $96,000 to $140,000 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
