Job Title: Fiber Optic Technician

Location: Shop is located in Hastings, MN & work performed in greater Twin Cities Metro area

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm

Compensation:

• Hourly Wage: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Splice and terminate fiber optic cables in various indoor and outdoor environments.
• Construct and maintain fiber optic splice closures, enclosures, and distribution panels.
• Perform fiber testing using OTDRs, power meters, and other industry-standard tools.
• Accurately document fiber connections, test results, and network layouts.
• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and project managers.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic issues efficiently to maintain network integrity.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience preferred – candidates with prior fiber splicing or installation experience will be given preference, but we are willing to train the right candidate .
• Strong technical background in fiber optics and network infrastructure is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Willingness to travel for projects as needed.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work day and/or night shifts as required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
