Imaging Scheduler Reporting to the Imaging Manager, the Imaging Scheduler is responsible for serving patients by scheduling imaging exams accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Essential Functions Responsible for efficient and accurate imaging procedure scheduling in EMR. Demonstrates, through behavior, Center for Primary Cares Mission Statement. Coordinates with referral specialists to ensure proper authorization/precertification is obtained prior to procedure. Provides imaging prep instructions to include dietary restrictions and exam specific preparations to patients. Maintain the efficiency of the schedule by scheduling patients in the next available time slot as well as ensuring time requirements for each imaging procedure is met. Effectively communicates with patients, families, healthcare staff and physicians. Reviews and evaluates scheduled appointments for completeness, and type of test ordered. Communicates scheduling concerns or problems to Imaging Supervisor. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines. Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others. All essential functions must be performed. Qualifications for Success: Education, License/Certification, and Experience Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required: Must have or be able to obtain CPR Certification within 6 months. Experience: Prior experience using computer software, preferably electronic medical records. Prior experience with customer service, medical terminology, and Imaging scheduling preferred. Knowledgeable of electronic medical record system. Knowledge of Imaging Procedures and appropriate prep for the scheduled procedure. Knowledge of Insurance Verification, Pre Authorizations, and Pre-Certifications. Ability to Type. Ability to identify emergent medical situations. Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced, time-sensitive work environment. Demonstrate positive customer service skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Attention to Detail.
