WaterStone Church is a vibrant, Bible-based, family-oriented church located in Longwood, Florida. We exist to Gather Regularly, Share Frequently, and Live Missionally (Joshua 4:23-24). Consistent spiritual growth and discipleship is a prominent focus within the congregation of new and established believers. At Waterstone, we are passionate to be a part of and serve the thriving Greater Orlando community and have built close relationships with the cities of Longwood and Altamonte Springs over many years.

Job Description:

Waterstone Church is seeking a Lead Pastor who embodies humility and integrity while pointing others to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ through biblical preaching and teaching at church and events. The pastor serves as a vital role model, demonstrating the values of faith and commitment to Christ and family in both personal and communal settings. We desire our future Lead Pastor to be someone with a genuine shepherd’s heart who loves and provides pastoral care for the congregation, fostering spiritual growth and community through the essential roles of a servant leader. This leader will clearly communicate the church’s vision and mission, ensuring all ministries align with these principles and sound doctrine. (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-4)

Vision Casting:

The Lead Pastor has the vital responsibility of overseeing the vision of the church, with the goal of fostering efficiency and facilitating the growth of all ministries. This role involves not only supervising and mentoring the pastoral staff and ministry support personnel but also nurturing lay leadership to encourage their spiritual growth, personal development, and professional skills. The Lead Pastor will also work alongside the stewardship team and staff during the budgeting process. (Proverbs 29:18, Habakkuk 2:2).

Local Outreach and Mission Emphasis of WaterStone Church:

Waterstone Church has always been passionate about uplifting and supporting missions and ministries, both in our local neighborhoods and across the globe. We participate with missions locally, nationally, and internationally and continue to foster close relationships with church bodies located in Nepal and Cuba. We are equipping mission-oriented individuals through courses that foster a healthy learning environment for others to learn how to share the gospel in everyday interactions. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 6:7)

Local Community:

The cities of Altamonte Springs and Longwood are lively suburbs located north of Orlando, with approximately 61,000 residents. Waterstone has a strong partnership with these two cities, in which we host community outreach events throughout the year.

Key Qualifications:

• An unwavering testimony and faithful commitment to Jesus Christ.
• A confirmed calling into lead pastoral ministry.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; preferred accredited seminary education at a graduate or doctorate level.
• Minimum of five years of pastoral leadership and preaching.
• Pastoral Counseling training and experience required.

Pay and Benefits Package Overview:

WaterStone anticipates that the Lead Pastor will be compensated with a salary and benefits package that is reflective of the size and engagement of the congregation. We are passionate about caring for our pastoral leaders at WaterStone and desire them to have adequate time for personal rest and rejuvenation, ensuring that they can maintain their well-being and effectively serve the community (Luke 10:2-8, 1 Corinthians 9:3-12, Isaiah 30:15).
