Job Description:
As an Apprentice Low Voltage Technician , you will work alongside experienced technicians and project managers to install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field, develop technical skills, and grow within the industry.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, termination, and testing of low voltage cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics, etc.).
Support the installation and configuration of security systems, access control, and audiovisual equipment.
Help mount, connect, and test devices such as cameras, card readers, and network hardware.
Follow detailed instructions to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to safety standards.
Learn to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Assist with labeling, pulling cable, and preparing materials as needed.
Work closely with the lead technician to complete project goals on time.
Qualifications:
Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in the low voltage industry.
Previous experience in construction, electrical work, or related trades is a plus but not required.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Willingness to travel to job sites and work flexible hours as needed.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
