Sylvan Learning of Cranberry is hiring Part-Time tutors to provide in-person tutoring for students PK-12

We are growing and expanding and adding members to our incredible tutoring team.

We are hiring part-time tutors to provide in-person tutoring for students K-12:

• Reading/English Tutor
• Math Tutor
• Early Elementary Reading Tutor
• Beginning Reading Tutor
• Test Prep (ACT/SAT) Tutor
• Writing Tutor
• Study Skills Tutor

During the school year, we teach students Monday through Thursday from 4-7 and will soon open Saturday mornings from 9-12. We require our teachers to be available two weekdays a week and two Saturdays a month. We have extended teaching opportunities in the summer, where we add morning hours.

Responsibilities:

• Develop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environment
• Deliver an exceptional level of program quality and an outstanding student experience
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
• Teach using Sylvan-based programs
• Inspire and motivate students during instruction
• Reward students for working hard and trying their best through our token system and motivation station
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to our Educational Team

Requirements:

• For reading/English tutors: An education/teaching degree is required (or students pursuing an education degree)
• For math tutors: strong proficiency through Algebra 2 (Education degree not required)
• For Test Prep (ACT/SAT)Tutor: a strong ACT/SAT score. Education Degree is not required
• 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience preferred
• Ability to make connections with students
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task
