Position Title: Police Officer - Entry Level and Lateral
The Portland Police Bureau is seeking applications for Entry and Lateral Police Officers.

Salary Information: $82,000.00 - $117,000.00 Annually

Hiring Incentives:

$1,000 at swear-in
Additional $1,000 at the end of probation
$3,000 after three years of service
Total hiring incentive of $5,000 (for new officers; does not apply to lateral hires)
Qualifications:

Age: At least 20.5 years old at the time of application.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen within 18 months of hire or legally permitted to work in the U.S.
Driver's License: Valid license in the current state of residence.
Lateral Police Officer Requirements:

Minimum of three years as a sworn police officer from a recognized state, county, or city agency, with employment within the last two years.
Disqualifications:

Certain body art or tattoos (case-by-case review for tattoos above the collar or on hands)
Vision must be correctable to 20/30
No marijuana use within 12 months of application
No felony convictions or convictions for crimes involving domestic violence
No dishonorable military discharge
No more than three traffic convictions in the last three years
