Product Manager Legal Technology

Contract: 6 12 months

Location: Remote / Hybrid

Reporting to: IT Director

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Contract Product Owner / Product Manager with legal tech experience to support delivery of enterprise legal technology solutions. This role is execution-focused and requires someone who can quickly embed with Agile teams, own the backlog, and translate legal and compliance requirements into shippable product increments.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Delivery

Own and manage the product backlog , including user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization.
Translate legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable requirements.
Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination with engineering teams.
Support UAT, defect triage, and release sign-off.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with legal, compliance, risk, and engineering teams to clarify requirements.
Act as day-to-day product contact for delivery teams.
Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate into backlog priorities.

Compliance & Quality

Ensure features align with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data retention, auditability).
Identify and escalate risks, dependencies, and scope changes.

Documentation & Enablement

Maintain lightweight product documentation, workflows, and release notes.
Support demos and stakeholder reviews as needed.

Required Experience

4+ years as a Product Manager or Product Owner .
Experience with legal tech, compliance, or regulated enterprise platforms .
Working knowledge of legal workflows (e.g., contract management, case management, eDiscovery).
Strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments .
Proven ability to work hands-on with engineering teams.

Nice to Have

Experience with CLM or legal operations platforms .
Exposure to AI-enabled legal tools .
Experience in IT services or consulting.
CSPO / SAFe POPM or similar certification.

A clear, prioritized, delivery-ready backlog.
Engineering teams unblocked and delivering consistently.
Legal and compliance requirements accurately implemented.
