Job Description

A large automotive company in the Eastend of Louisville is in need of multiple experienced operators on first shift. This is a full-time temp to hire position; 6am to 2:30pm Monday - Friday. Must have reliable transportation, zero attendance issues as there is a very strict attendance policy. The operator is responsible for servicing the manufacturing department by delivering materials to specific areas of the plant as directed by the manufacturing department. Guarantee internal handling of material (component, WIP and finished goods) observing label dates and respecting FIFO rules (First in, first out). Must be proficient at driving forklift.

JOB DUTIES

• Inspect forklift/tugger to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies for parts.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items.
• Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.
• Managing inventory by utilizing RF scanning equipment.
• Adhering to safety management standards.
• Operate forklifts/tugger to transport heavy goods around the warehouse
• Ensure proper handling and delivery of sensitive materials
• Stack and organize large bulk items.
• Stacking empty pallets and reorganizing the storage areas
• Maintains clean work area and ensure 5S in warehouse.
• Checks that loads are centered, secure, and properly stacked and distributed.

• Attend Daily Shift Meeting
• Ensure First IN First Out and follow all alert systems. 
• Move material to the manufacturing floor.
• Removes finished goods and scrap material from the manufacturing floor.
• Returns excess material to the proper storage area.
• All other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Sort and count quantity
• Sequence parts before delivering to assembly line
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
• Willingness to adhere to the companies Code of Ethics and Code of Management and Code of Management
• AUTHORITIES
  • Remove empty dunnage after components use from production lines consolidating it at designated area
  • Perform 1st OK inspection for equipment (Forklift / Tugger)
  • Correct unsafe conditions interrupting material flow (Example: pallet or cardboard in the middle of aisle etc.
  • Knowledge / Skills
    • Pass a written forklift test
    • Pass a forklift driving test
    • Excellent eye and hand coordination
    • Mathematical aptitude 
    • Good Organizational Skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Attention to detail
    • Good written and verbal communication
    • Be able to work overtime during the week
    • Be able to work overtime during the weekend. 
    • Must be able to list and carry up to 50lbs. 
    • Ability to work under pressure to tight time scales.

    • Valid Driver’s License 

    • Proficient level of English

  • Education / Experience:

    • Experience in production within the automotive industry.

  • • At least 5 years recent forklift experience.
