Job Description

Location: Remote, USA
Compensation: Up to $160,000

Are you a strategic, insight-driven qualitative leader who thrives in an environment that values depth over volume and genuine thinking over “deliverables for the sake of deliverables”? This opportunity is with a  highly respected healthcare insights organisation  known for its intellectual rigor, strong ethical standards, and ability to uncover the meaning  behind  the data — going far beyond surface-level research.

For over a decade, this organisation has built its reputation on  quality, thoughtfulness, and a partnership-driven approach . Their work influences clinical strategies, commercial decision-making, patient experience, and organisational planning for leading healthcare and life-science brands. They operate with a philosophy of  quality over quantity , ensuring researchers have the time, support, and space needed to deliver work that truly impacts decision-making.

You will join a team that values curiosity, balance, collaboration, and empathy — all brought together by a commitment to provide insight that actually moves the needle.

⭐ About the Role

As a  Research Director , you will step into a strategic leadership position where you will guide high-value, qualitative-leaning healthcare research from end to end. You’ll be responsible for elevating the thinking, the approach, and the delivery of insight across your team and the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to  lead, influence, and shape  the research offering — without the pressures of business development or sales targets.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

  Strategic Insight Leadership

  • Drive high-level research design, methodological thinking, and framing of strategic questions.

  • Push beyond surface-level insight to uncover what truly matters for patients, clinicians, and commercial teams.

  Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and elevate a talented team of qualitative and strategic researchers.

  • Model best-in-class qualitative practice, from study design to moderation to storytelling.

  • Champion a culture of growth, learning, and open collaboration.

  Quality-Focused Research Execution

  • Ensure each project is crafted thoughtfully — quality over quantity is the standard, not the exception.

  • Oversee the delivery of rigorous, meaningful qualitative work that informs clinical and commercial strategy.

  • Provide senior oversight, moderation, and strategic interpretation where needed.

  Cross-Functional & Client Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and excellence across all stages of research.

  • Engage with clients as a trusted advisor — helping shape the questions, connect the dots, and present compelling insight narratives.

  No Business Development Pressure

  • Your focus is leading research and delivering excellence — not selling or chasing revenue.

  • Growth comes naturally through the quality of the team’s work and long-standing client relationships.

What You Bring

  • Strong experience in  qualitative or mixed-method healthcare research , with a strategic lens

  • Demonstrated ability to  lead teams , elevate thinking, and guide complex studies

  • Expertise in qualitative research design, moderation, synthesis, and storytelling

  • A mindset that values  rigor, clarity, and meaningful outcomes over volume

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • A collaborative leadership style and a deep commitment to high-quality, human-centered insight

Why This Organisation Stands Out

  • A business founded on  depth, rigor, and integrity

  • quality-over-quantity model , with realistic workloads and thoughtful timelines

  • A genuinely supportive culture that values  balance, wellbeing, and intellectual curiosity

  • Work that has  real clinical, commercial, and patient impact

  • A leadership team that encourages open dialogue, new ideas, and continuous learning

If you’re ready to bring your qualitative and strategic expertise to an organisation where your thinking truly matters and where depth, quality, and impact are the core mission - we’d love to hear from you.
