Our client, a global risk consultancy, is seeking a Senior Consultant of Digital Forensics to join their team in either Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay Area. The Senior Consultant will be responsible for delivering digital forensics services to law firm and corporate clients, identifying new opportunities for the Discovery + Data Insights practice, and supporting client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, extensive experience in industry standard forensics tools, and a deep understanding of the digital forensics lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of forensic investigations and eDiscovery matters across different industries, collaborating with teams globally to ensure client satisfaction and uphold company standards. The Senior Consultant will also play a key role in business development activities, including building client relationships, demonstrating expertise, and identifying opportunities for revenue growth. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate and organize dynamic groups in a fast-paced setting with critical timelines
- Aid in managing daily resource allocation for the U.S. and Mexico Digital Forensics teams
- Contribute to improving processes within the Discovery + Data Insights group
- Take part in projects involving the discovery, collection, and review of digital systems and electronic data
- Create strategies and solutions for data collection, considering unique project needs and complexities
- Guide clients in choosing the best technologies for specific project aims
- Handle project closures, including returning data and archiving databases, ensuring clients understand retention implications in line with company policies
- Support business development through relationship-building with potential and current clients, showcasing expertise and drafting proposals or cost breakdowns
- Showcase business development skills via networking activities, converting connections into new revenue opportunities
- Expand revenue on active projects by spotting cross-selling chances for services within Discovery + Data Insights and the broader organization
- Represent the company at industry events, client demonstrations, and internal initiatives to enhance market presence
- Oversee documentation efforts such as evidence tracking, media management, and maintaining collection logs
- Maintain high standards of work using best practices and quality control measures
- Build and strengthen client relationships, ensuring their satisfaction throughout engagements
- Extract, filter, and stage data from forensic images for further processing
- Use both commercial and proprietary tools for data collection, review, and reporting
- Work with other departments to create and deliver solutions for areas like compliance monitoring, privacy, and insider risk management
- Travel to challenging environments and locations as needed, up to half the time
REQUIREMENTS- Several years of hands-on experience with computer forensic investigations
- Knowledge of leading procedures, best practices, and emerging technology trends in the field
- Skilled in preserving and analyzing digital evidence from mobile devices using recognized forensic tools
- Proficient in forensic and eDiscovery tools such as EnCase, FTK, Tableau, X-Ways, Cellebrite, Nuix, Brainspace, or RelativityOne
- Strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure fundamentals
- Familiarity with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
- Experienced with tools like Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
- Skills in SQL and PowerShell scripting is desired
- Track record of solving complex issues, collaborating with clients, and troubleshooting during engagements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Forensics, or a related discipline
- Certifications such as Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), EnCase Examiner (EnCE), or Access Data Examiner (ACE) are highly valued
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage diverse audiences
- Skilled in working within teams spread across different locations, maintaining effective communication
- Excellent interpersonal abilities
- Expertise in managing projects and organizing priorities
- Thrive under pressure, meeting tight deadlines while managing multiple competing tasks
- Demonstrated motivation to learn and succeed in the role
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with little advance notice
Expected salary for this role is $100,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
