Our client is a cutting-edge technology corporation that is experiencing rapid growth. They are currently building a world-class finance team to support their expansion and are hiring for a Senior Cost Accountant.
This position will play a crucial role in cost accounting, financial analysis, and process optimization within our growing manufacturing operations. This position will work closely with finance and operations teams to analyze manufacturing costs, track variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for manufacturing in the technology industry. This is a high-impact role within a fast-growing company, offering the opportunity to help establish and refine cost accounting processes as we scale.
Key Responsibilities • Cost Accounting & Analysis – Maintain and analyze standard costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accuracy in product costing.
• Inventory & Variance Tracking – Monitor and reconcile inventory movements, cost variances, and production efficiency to identify areas for cost savings.
• Financial Reporting – Prepare and analyze cost reports, margin analysis, and profitability metrics to support executive decision-making.
• Manufacturing Operations Support – Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial visibility.
• Budgeting & Forecasting – Assist in the development of cost-related budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.
• Process Improvement – Identify and implement best practices for cost accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting within a growing manufacturing environment.
• ERP & Systems Management – Maintain and enhance cost accounting functionality within the company’s ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
• Audit & Compliance – Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technology manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, cost variance analysis, and inventory accounting principles.
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
