Senior IT Project Manager

Phoenix, AZ

This position is mostly remote, but it is encouraged/optional to come into the office once a week on Tuesdays.
Candidate must be local to Phoenix.

This is a 5 Month Contract - NO C2C.

Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

ADOA-ASET develops and executes the statewide IT strategy for Arizona state government and provides IT infrastructure and services to state agencies to ensure continuity of mission critical and essential systems.
ASET is managed by Arizona's State CIO and serves as an information technology leader for AZ government.
ASET's Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) provides project management services that align to Arizona's Strategic IT Plan.
ASET's EPMO is looking for someone who is passionate, highly skilled, committed to successful project execution and superior customer service to join our team.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

Job Duties:

Manage multiple complex and high visibility enterprise projects
Serves as project champion embracing and articulating project goals, objectives and outcomes for projects such as cloud technologies, infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, digitization, enterprise-wide applications and managed partnerships
Manage the project team to drive results and successes; Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities
Manages the entire project life cycle from discovery through lessons learned
Facilitates team/stakeholder interactions, meetings and communications
Works with project resources, including procurement and vendor, to assure project health
Ensure the team is working together and step in when needed
Understands, monitors and reports on project tasks, milestones and deliverables.
Document and report on project management activities
Guides project teams to define requirements or stories/sprints/backlogs
Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary
Balances priorities among multiple projects/subprojects
Plan, budget, monitor and report on the project with project management tools. Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities - Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services

Experience Required:

3+ years in a project management or similar role utilizing PM processes/protocols
1+ years of previous experience with gathering requirements from the client / business and documentation

Education and Certification Required:

Bachelor's degree required
PMP Certification required

3. Do you have 3+ years of experience in a project management role utilizing formal PM processes/protocols.

9. Do you have hands-on experience with drafting and managing project budgets, including making recommendations for adjustments.

10. Do you have familiarity with enterprise project management tools and technologies for planning, monitoring, and reporting.

11. Do you have experience in guiding teams to define project requirements, stories, sprints, or backlogs.

12. Do you have knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from discovery through lessons learned, including documentation processes.

13. Do you have demonstrated ability to resolve risks, issues, or changes effectively during projects.

14. Do you have experience facilitating team and stakeholder interactions, meetings, and communications.

15. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
