Promet is looking for a client facing Contract Senior Wordpress Developer to work remotely with its established team of professionals remotely in the US or nearshore for up to 20 hours a week. The hourly rate is $35-70USD per hour and there are no benefits with this contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and build with best practice and code excellence in mind
• Work in teams to help build and develop websites with Wordpress
• Designing and implementing new features and functionality
• Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the Wordpress site
• Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
• Serve as the Wordpress expert and mentor to the team 

Qualifications:

Technical:

• Expert understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• GitHub experience
• Knows how to apply accessibility web standards into their job role
• Solid knowledge of Wordpress' hook and API system.
• Experience using ACF to create custom post types, taxonomies, and fields.
• Comfortable building both themes and plugins from scratch.
• Comfortable using site builders and creating new components for them as needed ( Gutenburg, Elementor, Divi, etc. )
• Understand and can Develop a website to follow WCAG AA 2.1 guidelines.
• Building themes using Timber ( TWIG templates ) is a bonus.
