We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to support enterprise-level geospatial systems and infrastructure within a federal environment. This role is critical to the maintenance, administration, and performance optimization of GIS platforms, databases, and web applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, scripting and automation, and high-availability system design—all within virtualized or cloud-hosted environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications using enterprise-standard development tools and frameworks.
  • Customize and enhance existing applications to meet evolving program and business requirements.
  • Perform requirements analysis, solution architecture, and software design to support new features, integrations, and modernization efforts.
  • Support code management and version control, ensuring all changes are tracked, documented, and reproducible from version-controlled repositories.
  • Implement structured change and release management processes, including testing, rollback, and deployment strategies.
  • Conduct application monitoring, incident triage, and resolution to meet service-level agreements.
  • Optimize performance and reliability of applications and databases, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Integrate applications with geospatial and mapping systems, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and support remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Document system workflows, architecture, and operational procedures; conduct knowledge transfer sessions with stakeholders.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and continuity of operations testing.
  • Provide stakeholder support, including reporting on performance metrics and recommending improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with proficiency in web-based application development.
  • Strong understanding of relational database systems.
  • Experience with software design, customization, and database integration within enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in version control systems and modern software development practices (e.g., branching, peer reviews, CI/CD).
  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based change, release, and incident management.
  • Experience developing or integrating geospatial and mapping solutions preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with experience engaging stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and complete all mandatory training.
