Our Wedgewood location in Nashville, TN is looking for a Practice Manager (Veterinary Hospital Manager). The Practice Manager plays a critical leadership role in hospital operations and veterinary team management. This position ensures a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication, creates operational efficiencies, and problem-solves to improve client service and employee engagement.
Key to the PM’s role is the ability to create and maintain a positive culture and work environment aligned with the hospital’s goals. This person is creative yet grounded in developing and implementing practical programs that drive results.
The Practice Manager oversees all business and administrative activities of the hospital, including:
Recruiting, hiring, and training veterinary hospital staff
Partnering with leadership and finance to prepare and manage budgets
Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs)
Managing inventory and inventory control systems
Setting and reviewing hospital service fees
Overseeing hospital management software and technology
Implementing safety, compliance, and security procedures
Minimum 3+ years of veterinary management or supervisory experience (veterinary hospital, animal clinic, or specialty practice)
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field — or equivalent business experience
CVPM certification encouraged but not required
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and coach teams
Demonstrated experience managing hospital operations, including staff scheduling and workflow optimization
Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, P&L statements, and revenue forecasting
Commitment to exceptional client service and compassionate patient care
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and practice management software
Ability to lift 40 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance
