Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Electrical Installation Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and low-voltage systems. This role involves working with a variety of electrical components, including LED screens, lighting, media players, amplifiers, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of electrical codes, and the ability to deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities: - Plan and execute new or modified installations in compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Prepare detailed sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring locations and equipment placement.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit and wiring pathways.
- Splice, solder, and insulate wire connections using appropriate methods and materials.
- Connect wiring to lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and power equipment.
- Install and maintain control and distribution systems such as switches, relays, and circuit breakers.
- Connect and ground power cables to electrical equipment, motors, and other devices.
- Perform functionality testing of systems and Program Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Use instruments such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and buzzers to test electrical continuity and system safety.
- Inspect and test installed systems to ensure proper operation and identify potential hazards or improvements.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues with low-voltage and 120/240V systems.
- Assist with audiovisual (AV) preparation and installation as needed.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications: - Proven experience in electrical installation or related field.
- Working knowledge of local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency with electrical testing tools and equipment.
- Experience with low-voltage systems and AV components required.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Start and end times to be established; up to 40 hours per week)
